Scan to BIM Services in Corpus Christi, Texas

Pro3 LiDAR Capture E57 Point Cloud Revit / CAD Ready As-Built Documentation

Precision Scan to BIM: LiDAR to Revit

AeroFrohne converts physical spaces into intelligent digital models using Matterport Pro3 LiDAR. We provide Scan to BIM services in Corpus Christi for architects, engineers, and construction teams needing precise as-built conditions. By capturing high density point clouds, we eliminate manual measuring errors and deliver Revit models (.RVT), CAD files (.DWG), or raw E57 point clouds ready for your workflow.

Whether for historic renovation in downtown Corpus Christi or industrial retrofits in the Coastal Bend, we bridge the gap between the job site and your design software. Our process supports varying Levels of Development (LOD) from basic massing (LOD 200) to precise fabrication-ready detailing (LOD 350+).

  • Core Deliverables: Revit Models (.RVT) • 2D CAD Plans (.DWG) • E57 Point Clouds • IFC Exports • RCPs
  • Workflow: Pro3 LiDAR Scan → Registration → Modeling (LOD 200-400) → QC → Delivery
  • Applications: As-builts, Renovation, MEP Coordination, Clash Detection, Historic Preservation

Pro3 LiDAR Specs for BIM Workflows

We use the Matterport Pro3 to capture high fidelity depth data. This allows us to generate E57 point clouds with a density and accuracy suitable for architectural and structural modeling. This data is imported directly into Autodesk Revit to trace existing conditions with verified accuracy.

Standard Scan to BIM Deliverables

Revit Models (.RVT)

Intelligent 3D models of existing conditions. We model architecture, structure, and exposed MEP to your specified Revit version (2020-2025).

E57 Point Cloud

High-density, registered point cloud files usable in Revit, Navisworks, Recap, and other BIM software for your own modeling teams.

2D CAD (.DWG)

Floor plans, reflected ceiling plans (RCP), and elevations extracted directly from the 3D data for traditional CAD workflows.

IFC Exports

Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) exports for OpenBIM compatibility, ensuring data works across ArchiCAD, Vectorworks, and more.

LOD Specification

We tailor the geometry to your needs: LOD 200 (generic massing) to LOD 350 (precise geometry with connections/interfaces).

MatterPak™ Bundle

Includes .XYZ point cloud, .OBJ mesh file, and floor plan images for quick visualization alongside the heavy BIM data.

Who needs Scan to BIM?

Architects & Designers

Start your renovation with an accurate model of existing conditions. Stop wasting time returning to the site to re-measure missed corners.

  • As-built verification
  • Renovation planning
  • Historic preservation

General Contractors

Validate site conditions before fabrication begins. Use point clouds for clash detection and to verify sub-contractor installs.

  • Pre-construction planning
  • Virtual design & construction (VDC)
  • Concrete flatness analysis

MEP Engineers

Capture complex mechanical rooms and exposed piping. We model existing ductwork and piping to help you route new systems without collisions.

  • Clash detection
  • Equipment retrofit planning
  • Spatial coordination

Facility Managers

Convert paper blueprints into a living digital asset. locate maintenance valves and equipment in 3D for long term operations.

  • Asset tagging & management
  • Digital twins for operations
  • Space management

The Workflow: Scan to Model

1) Scan (Capture)

We deploy the Matterport Pro3 LiDAR camera to capture millions of data points, covering both interior and exterior environments.

2) Process (Register)

Scans are registered into a unified point cloud (.E57). We clean noise and verify alignment to ensure structural accuracy.

3) Model (BIM)

Our BIM technicians import the cloud into Revit and trace geometry (walls, floors, pipes, beams) to the agreed LOD.

4) QC & Deliver

We overlay the model against the point cloud to verify accuracy, then deliver the native files (.RVT, .DWG, .RCP) to you.

Scan to BIM FAQ

What files do I get with Scan to BIM?
The standard delivery is a native Autodesk Revit file (.RVT). Depending on your scope, we also provide CAD (.DWG), IFC, and the raw .E57 point cloud files.
What is LOD (Level of Development)?
LOD defines how detailed the 3D model is. LOD 200 is approximate geometry (good for space planning). LOD 300 is precise geometry (good for construction docs). LOD 350 includes details like supports and connections.
Can you scan MEP systems?
Yes. The Pro3 LiDAR is excellent for capturing exposed MEP (ducts, pipes, conduit) in mechanical rooms or open ceilings. We can model these elements into Revit families.
How long does it take to get the Revit model?
Scanning takes 1-2 days for typical sites. Modeling time depends on size and LOD complexity, usually ranging from 5 to 10 business days after scanning is complete.
Do I need special software to view the results?
To edit the BIM model, you need Revit or a CAD compatible program. However, we can also provide a free viewer file or a web-based walk-through for stakeholders who don't have BIM software.
