AeroFrohne is expanding its licensed land surveyor partner network in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland for cadastral, boundary, topographic, geomatics, GIS, site verification, and AEC documentation projects across Biel/Bienne and Canton Bern.

Role Description

This is an independent contractor based surveyor role for Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. The role may include boundary and cadastral coordination, topographic survey documentation, control support, site verification, GIS/CAD deliverables, and coordination with architects, engineers, BIM teams, and field capture teams.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out field surveys for cadastral, boundary, construction, engineering, and topographic projects across Biel/Bienne and Canton Bern as needed.
  • Capture and verify precise site data using total stations, GNSS/GPS, levels, laser scanning, drones, and other approved survey equipment.
  • Prepare, update, and check survey plans, control points, terrain models, 3D data, GIS records, and CAD deliverables for client and project use.
  • Support the updating of official cadastral and utility documentation where legally permitted, including measurements of new structures, property changes, and infrastructure assets.
  • Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, contractors, public authorities, GIS teams, and project managers to clarify site constraints and survey requirements.
  • Maintain accurate field notes, reports, QA/QC records, data transfers, and document handling in line with surveying standards and client confidentiality expectations.

Requirements

  • Based in Biel/Bienne.
  • Professional experience in surveying, geomatics, geoinformatics, civil engineering, or cadastral surveying.
  • Comfortable working on project sites and producing clear, accurate survey information for architects, engineers, contractors, and property owners.
  • Hands on experience with common survey equipment such as total stations, GNSS/GPS receivers, digital levels, laser scanners, drones, or similar field capture tools.
  • Ability to prepare or support survey plans, control points, terrain models, CAD drawings, GIS data, 3D documentation, and field reports with strong attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Swiss coordinate systems, cadastral practices, site documentation, field measurement methods, and the quality standards expected on Swiss projects.
  • German, French, and English for international project teams.
  • Swiss federal patent as an Ingenieur-Geometer/in or equivalent federally recognized qualification, with active registration in the Geometerregister. For non-cadastral engineering, construction, topographic, or reality capture surveying, equivalent geomatics/surveying education and relevant Swiss field experience may be acceptable.
  • Identity verification, proof of qualifications, insurance documentation, and a criminal background check.
